Something Old, Something New: some fresh wedding decor ideas inspired by vintage finds from contributing blogger and fabulous wedding planner, Erin Garvey

Weddings need this.
while looking through some gorgeous wedding pics, a table filled with candies caught my eye. “I’m so glad the candy bar has caught on” was my first thought. my second thought though was “that table is fantastic.” the candy bar was situated on this great teak table, shabbily worn down. the wedding was held on an island, so the weathered table looked beautiful. fit naturally. added a vintage beach feel that gave the couple’s candy bar some character. Lovely.
this got me thinking. why don’t more people use vintage furniture in the decor scheme? it is a growing trend and some brides have really made this vintage design idea. i am using vintage in the broad term. however this could mean: victorian couches, shabby chic furniture, rod iron outdoor seating…
don’t get me wrong. i understand the importance of easy rentals…they set up. they tear down. easy. BUT, why not take some time to look for some fantastic pieces to enhance your decor. could be a fun outing for bridesmaids, MOB and MOG or (dare I say it) the groom and the bride. once your are done, you can use the pieces in your new home together. donate it to your family members. resell it. whatevs.
anything that adds character to a wedding I am all for. check out the pics below on the cleverly executed vintage furniture.
love it.
